A Taste Of Italy

If you’ve ever been curious about Italian delicacies, now’s your chance to check them out. This summer, we’re taking guests on a culinary tour of Italy at Piattino, celebrating the unique dishes from different regions throughout the country.

We’re starting with Calabria, which is located in southwest Italy. It comprises the “toe” of Italy’s boot-shaped peninsula and is known for its warm climate, mountains, villages and beautiful beaches.

We’re offering dried pastas, pork sausages, chilies, herbs, honey and jams. Our menu includes a warm spinach salad with fresh mozzarella, shaved red onion, pancetta and grape tomato; chili-glazed swordfish, caponata and stone-fired potatoes; and a dish called frutti di mare picante, which features hand-cut pappardelle (broad, flat noodles), clams, jumbo shrimp, swordfish, spicy San Marzano tomato sauce, Calabrian chilies and basil gremolata (an herb condiment made from lemon zest, garlic and parsley).

We’ll even be offering Italian cocktails, such as sgroppino, which is composed of prosecco, absolut, lemon sorbet and fresh mint.
